C-SPAN To Cover Raleigh Spy Conference

March 16, 2009 (RALEIGH, NC) – C-SPAN, the Washington, DC-based national public affairs network, will film a full day of the 6th Raleigh Spy Conference set for March 25-27 at the North Carolina Museum of History in downtown Raleigh (www.raleighspyconference.com).

“This is very flattering and signifies the national reputation of the Raleigh Spy Conference,” said event founder Bernie Reeves. ”C-SPAN filmed our 2006 conference on Castro and Cuba.”

This year’s topic, “Sexspionage: Famous Women Spies and the Ancient Art of Seduction,” recognizes the contribution - and treachery - of lady spies from ancient times to the modern era.

A C-SPAN spokesman said, “We think the subject matter is very interesting and of value to our viewers.”

The network will film four of the conference’s five speaker sessions on Thursday, March 26. For details go to www.raleighspyconference.com and click on “schedule”.

Reeves, editor and publisher of Raleigh Metro Magazine (www.metronc.com), established the Raleigh Spy Conference to fill the void left by university academics who refuse to track the huge volume of declassified data from the Cold War available since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

“The Raleigh conference is recognized around the globe for providing inside information to the general public,” said Reeves. “Plus the speakers love coming to the South.”
